I have been getting a lot of People asking me about the Canidae food and why I feed it, so I thought I would add this page to explain it to everyone that has the Question. I used to feed Nutro Natural Choice food, kibble and can..... I give can to mothers mixed with kibble, and young pups. I had some of the Recalled food, and Thankfully, when I checked the lot numbers, it was the new canned cases of food I had just gotten. I had not opened the case of cans yet. So after taking the food back, I went to a Feed Store to see what I could find that did NOT have ANY ADDITIVES..... NOT AN EASY THING TO FIND!!! Most people, including my self, have not done the research into what exactly IS Natural...... LOOK AT THE FIRST 4 OR 5 INGREDIENTS IN YOUR PET FOOD !!! How much of it is a Grain??? How far down does it say some kind of Gluten? What about the Colors and Dyes that are added in there to make it look Pretty for US.... the dog or puppy does not care what it looks like.... they want it to taste good.... What about the By-Products..... In MOST INSTANCES.... By-Products are the Chicken Feet, the Heads, guts, that are left over from the animal. It is NOT the Breast Meat of the Chicken, I Assure You ! I bet I spent 2-3 hours in the store looking over the Ingredients of all the different Pet foods they had..... after Talking with the Sales Person.... and getting His Imput on the different foods and the Ingredients, I chose the Canidae.
The first reason for the Canidae, it WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST, and it NEVER WAS. Canidae IS ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS, in every sense of the saying "All Natural". CANIDAE Pet Foods in no way was, or is affected by the recall, nor are any of their Products Produced in any of the Recalled Production Facilities. CANIDAE does not use ANY Protein Concentrates, or Grain Fractions and They DO NOT IMPORT ANY INGREDIENTS from China or Overseas. All of Their Products are made with Superior Quality in every Bag and Can with NO CORN, WHEAT, SOY, GRAIN FRACTIONS OR FILLERS – AND IT IS NATURALLY PRESERVED ! French and English Bulldogs can be known to have some Skin Allergies. THESE GRAINS can be the CAUSE of MOST SKIN ALLERGIES !!! So getting this food for my dogs was ANOTHER PLUS ! I have one frenchie that has some problems with allergies...... and I can say that since she has been on this food, things have gotten much much better !! Another reason for THIS FOOD..... 1 Cup of CANIDAE FOOD has 487 Calories in it. Feeding Guidelines for this food is 1 Cup her 25 lbs.... I have found this to be true. I "Prefer" to feed the dogs a meal in the morning, and I "Prefer" to have them eat until they are full, and leave some in the dish. Then I know they got what they wanted and are satisfied. I have only 1 Frenchie, that I have recently gotten.... that needs a little less food because she is over weight.... but the others are all in real good weight. I don't see them overeating. So in that 1 cup of food, my dogs are getting all the Nutrients they need, feeling "Full" and NOT Consuming alot of empty calorie, grain filled food, to get the Nutrients they need to Build a Strong Immune System and Stay Healthy. Also, less consumption means less waste, and that means less Poop. Keeping them Healthy and Happy is the main Goal. Feeding them Food that is giving them the Nutrients they need to Thrive, and not feeding food with a bunch of grains and Gluten Fillers, that are not only "Empty Calories" but that is what was making so many dogs deathly sick, and can be the cause of so many Skin Allergies. I would rather pay $37 for a 40lb bag of food and feed Premium Quality in a small amount than buy the Cheaper stuff and Risk not only my dog getting sick from the Fillers, but lacking the needed Nutrients to Thrive, AND feeding the cheaper food really is not cheaper when the dog has to eat so much just Trying to get the Nutrients it needs, but that the Cheap Food is Lacking. So I feel the Canidae Food, is a Great Premium Food to be feeding my dogs and seems to be everything they need to Thrive and Be Healthy and Happy !! They all really like the food, it is very Palatable....
I suggest EVERYONE go to the Canidae Website and read about the Ingredients in Their Food. They have a Store Locator where you can put in your Zip Code and find a Dealer Near You. THEN .... TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT WHAT YOUR FEEDING TO YOUR DOG..... IS IT REALLY ALL NATURAL ?????? HOW MANY FILLERS, ADDITIVES, OR DYES DOES IT HAVE IN IT ??? WHERE IS THE INGREDIENTS COMING FROM ???? CHINA??? I DONT WANT ANY FOOD THAT COMES FROM CHINA ...... with all the Recall Pet food... the Human Food is getting Recalled also.... and just the other day on the News ..... China is Recycling USED CHOP STICKS WITHOUT WASHING OR SANITIZING THEM !!!!!!
